CBD

The CBD, situated in the center of the New Town, stretches for nearly 4.29 km and is divided into two phases.

The first phase, extending 2.39 km, has 16 landmark buildings covering 2.41 million sq m, most of which have been completed. Many transnational and top foreign companies have moved into the area. The service sector is witnessing dynamic development as more and more financial, media, information, professional service and hi-tech companies are converging on the area.

The second phase of the CBD stretches from Hexi Street to Jiangshan Square, a distance of 1.9 km and a total area of over 20 hectares. So far, 14 companies have begun construction of their headquarters there, while the new headquarters of Xinhua Press Group, a local media organization of Nanjing , has already been set up. More than 10 companies, including famous Hong Kong real estate firms like Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd, and the largest real estate firms founded by Chinese businesspeople F&T Group have signed investment intention agreements with the Hexi New Town State-owned Assets Group. The second phase of the town is aimed at attracting more headquarters of international well-known and multinational companies. The emerging commercial area Hexi Street
will have a planned construction area of nearly 3 million sq m, of which 1 million sq m has been set aside for commercial construction, including large shopping centers, exclusive dealers selling branded products, hotels and entertainment facilities.
